Well here we are on a Thursday in Madco and there's no whitewater to boat. First time that's happened in like 4 weeks. Damn, I was just getting used to that lifestyle.

Meanwhile, to help ease the pain of no local boating for any other Madco junkies out there here's some pictures and video from June 18 of the W. Prong @ minimum and the Main Otter @ strong medium flow.

Willie and I will be loaded up about 5:20 and ready to roll. Wherever the fun is? I will get Codi to take a look at the upper Main stem at the bottom of our hill.

I will call when I am on the way to Richmond.

The Main Otter is CRANKING high @ 3:45pm and will be there all evening. Still watching the Muddy gauge for another spike - gotta believe it will be there too. No visual on Tates yet but based on the Otter's high flow chances are it will be there as well. C6 and I are looking to put on the Otter or Tates or Muddy probably around 5-5:30 give me a call if you want to go.

Jason,
Everything depends upon how much rain fell and where. Assuming the same amount of rain for all of Madco (maybe not likely today?) here's a list of streams running from the quickest to drop to the slowest to drop:

Calloway (almost have to be there while it rains)
E. Prong Otter
Tates
Main Otter
Muddy
Silver (usually takes several hours to come up - but will hold for a long time)

Madco is going off big time and Travis reports that Calloway is a "medium" level @1:30pm and Tates is "probably there too".

Best guess is that most of Madco will be happening soon - if not already. I'm up for whatever is the most fun but will not be able to get out there till around 5pm. Let me know if you wanna go!

Watch for strainers on Glenns. I generally think of it as a Nanty type run, but a couple of those islands up top have trees at the bottom and one time in particular there was a river wide tree that we caught on a boat scout at the last minute and had to portage.

remember trees up the ante on our local creeks.

I would be looking at the creeks down by Wilmore and on the river side of Nicholasville / Danville if I were boating today. Looks like 2" in an hour in some of those storms.
