American Rivers Alert

I just received an American Rivers Alert about a court case to allow a gold mining company in Alaska to dump its tailings in a lake. Gold mining typically is an environmental disaster, involving large amounts of acid in the processing. And this will set, or at least continue, a precedent of allowing waste dumping to be permitted as "fill", which is part of the controversy in the permitting of Mountaintop Removal/ Valley Fill coal mining.

Please check their website and weigh in with a comment to the Corps of Engineers!
