Looks like we are not the only ones unhappy with the decision. See the attached. Funny how quick the Forest Service is to "Stay" the decision to allow limited boating on such short notice and issued late on the 26th (Monday) after receiving a dubious "appeal" on the 20th by Georgia Forest Watch, whose irrational position has little merit on the boating ban issue which they support. This whole case is going to get interesting folks. And that reminds me, we used to (long ago and far away) have annual club trips to the Chattooga. Let's get that going again.

Yes, this is good news from my view and a very strong position. Sometimes you gotta keep the pedal to the metal and this is one of those. The whole ban is simply outrageous. Don't forget the BWA helped with letter writing and it made an impression on the forest service to hear such a large group of paddlers (at the time about 250 in number) from 5-6 hours away were so interested as to send their (then) President down to the meetings. They never expected such a response from the boating community and they constantly backpedaled which I think helps our litigation position now. When it comes to things like this, with political import, numbers matter and so do the sound of the squeeky wheel we make. BTW, has everyone renewed their BWA and AW dues that are reading this? Have you made sure your boating buddy(ies) has(have)? If so, go recruit some more members please.
