Thanks Gene! The BWA is always interested in ways we can help the Russell Fork so keep me tuned in.

Lug? Haven't heard that term in a while. You must be older than me still.

I run it all the time, both the Gorge section and the Upper. I have rafts, duckies and kayaks. Actually have a full-time VISTA and a Summer VISTA working for me here in Haysi at Friends of the Russell Fork.

Have a dozer working at Flannagan Dam on a parking lot for bikers....ready to let bids on hiking/biking trail to Breaks Interstate Park. Only have two million to start with but hoping coal company will be helping me later this summer to get us off to a bang.
Just call our office and Bernetta or Jon will answer. Bernetta just graduated from San Francisco State U and is a great young lady.
Just email thru Forf.weebly.com and Bernetta will keep me informed.
We are forever cleaning area rivers so come out and join us!
You too Brent, you big lug!

Barry, The Army Corp has been resistant to levels above 250 for a variety of reasons. That seems to have been the majickal number they could live with without requiring more expensive capital outlays to accomodate the needs of the water releases for other groups such as fishermen. Steve Ruth has more details on all this. If we could only encourage him to post here.

Greetings, I started running as low as 187 cfs., in the mid-90's. I find 200 to 400 cfs and 475 to 600 cfs., my best levels. That as a C-1 paddler. 1000 cfs. is big volume running.

Best Regards,

I keep hearing 300cfs bandied about as the best level for summer releases. This too low for boating the upper and lower sections. Why this level and not another (like 1000?) Why any specific level at all? How about best available water?
