Boulder G'zone is not water resistant, what is?

For safety reasons I like to keep a cell phone in my PFD and prefer a water resistant phone that requires minimal additional protection. I thought the Boulder G'zone through Verizon was the answer but it proves to fall short in every way. It's not really water-resistant and when I have talked to Verizon about my Boulder that drowned the first time it got wet they say 'Well, it's not THAT water-resistant..." I bought a second one to replace the drowned one and within months a flimsy part has broken off and it is now less water-resistant than an average phone. Verizon says it's all my fault.

Does anyone have a suggestion for the best cell phone to have on the water?

I had a boulder g zone that i paddled with in my pfd for two summers, i even took underwater pics with it. in the end it died because of a key pad failure and a sharp impact with pavement. The key to that particular phone is clean o-rings, pet hair, your hair, dust, grime must all be kept out of the rings. if you want a truly water proof phone that does it all... Get yourself an I-phone or a droid than pair it with a pelican case.
good luck,
Stuber

Yes, [www.sonimtech.com]
Take a look at the XP3 line.

nothing is fool proof, but you can insure your phone and it is covered, even if the failure was your fault (excluding, i'm sure, willful abuse; like beating it with a hammer).
Check out Assuron available through Verizon when you get a new phone.
