Re: New Site (for real?)

I like seeing who has last edited a reach. Often times it is not the listed stream team person. I would like to see a history of everyone who has edited and contributed to a reach.

you now have that option under the credits tab for a stream, it just takes a little digging.

Re: Question RE: Abstract (answered)

I see this issue has been addressed (in the now 'live' system) by adding an 'info' icon adjacent to the reach name. When the mouse/pointer hovers over the blue-dot "i" icon, the abstract summary information (in a yellow-backgrounded little pop-up) appears immediately adjacent every time.

Thank you. Nice job.

Hmm. When I mouse over the "info" icon, using FireFox or IE, I only get a box saying, "Shift+R improves the quality of this image..." I'm not getting the abstract. Do I have some settings wrong (in both FireFox and IE)?

Journal Download Error

It seems that the Journal downloading app isn't working properly. When I click on the link under "entire PDF," I get an error massage:
Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

For the most recent issues (for instance, the current issue), hitting the "reload" button has worked, and I've received the file. However, for the May/June 2008 issue and previous issues, the file seems to load halfway and hang up...and no amount of reloading brings it out of its funk.

I'm on a very fast connection these daze (20-150 kB/s), so the DL speed shouldn't be the cause of this bug.

Photo viewer problem

AWESOME that the photos now open a 'viewer' application, which allows sequencing through all the photos.

However, it seems to 'freeze up' on some situations. I'm not sure if it is hitting a photo it can't handle (a gif or animated gif maybe, or somehow otherwise unreadable photo) or if it is encountering a video clip that it is not set up to handle, or ???

For an example, I was looking at the photos on reach #3313.

Photo 'override' may not have transferred
Posted by: rob (IP Logged)

Some while back, a "Full-Resolution Photo Override" button was added to the edit panel, to allow photos to NOT go through the automatic resizing process (and whatever else happens 'automatically' to the photo designated as a 'feature photo' on a reach description. Besides not resizing a photo, this also allowed using, for example, an animated-gif file as the featured photo (as I have done on one or more of my river/reaches).

At cutover/implementation of the new system, it appears that observation of this flag may have been missed. Specifically, that is, a reach on which I had the animated gif assigned as featured photo suddenly had the image passed though the resize/reformat software, and 'broke' the animation.

It was a simple matter for me (for this one reach on which I noticed the problem) to go into edit on the reach (on the now production system), click the "Full-Resolution Photo Override" button, save the changes, and 'voila', all is better for that reach.

However, I am curious how many other reaches may have had the "Full-Resolution Photo Override" button clicked before, and have now been 'broken' by this override apparently not having been recognized or brought forward.

Can this be looked into and 'programmatically' remedied? Or will it be up to each volunteer to verify all their reaches with 'feature photos' to make sure they are displaying as they should?

Error on Google Maps (for shuttle)

Google Maps on the shuttle ('Directions') tab seems to be broken.
Sometimes I'm getting directions but no map, sometimes no directions nor map.

Cannot edit reach assignments in Photo Editor
Posted by: matt (IP Logged)

I'm trying to move a bunch of photos from the SC and NC descriptions of the various Chattooga reaches, so that I can delete the (now redundant) SC/NC versions of these sites. When I pull up the photos and click on "Edit," however, the lookup for the reach is missing.

This is the case for photos accessed from the general photo/video list, as well as photos found in the Photos tab in the reach descriptions.

Error adding photos to rapids
Posted by: pmartzen (IP Logged)

I added some photos to rapids, but completely different photos showed up in the preview and final view. The drop down menu when adding the photos seemed a bit screwy also in that multiple photos had the name of one of the photos. However the ID numbers and thumbnails were correct. In preview and final view, completely unrelated photos were displayed. I reverted the photos to the (none) option until the problem is resolved.
