John,

As the site works now, the first tab (RiverMain) shows the name of the last person to edit the reach. As soon as someone else edits the reach, your name will drop from that prominent position.

Does that answer your question?

I'm confused a bit by this.

I can still list "Manage My Streams"; and I see all the streams listed I am SK for, but not other streams I have edited recently.

So the concept of SK ownership still appears to exist.

I do think that having an official SK for each reach is useful. It provides a point person to go to with questions, information, or other issues.

It's also nice to get credit. The SK is usually the person that does the most work. It would be nice to still list those names (assuming the concept is still valid).

I agree.

If anyone has signed up as an ST for a reach, I think his/her name should show up on the main page. If two have signed up, both their names should be displayed. If no one has signed up to ST a reach, then the last person to edit it should be the one whose name is displayed.

Matt,
see i signed up for ST on a reach near home cause i'm close and know some landowners and can be the go to guy for info.
now we've been kicked off the creek and everyother one in the county too. so i want my name off the internet.

there are other reaches i have edited near home and my name has not been thrown on the front page. . . ?

originally i hoped to add several new reaches to AW in my area but alas i can't share them for fear of loosing access.. or cause it is posted outright and i aint ganna put my name on here and tell others to go check it out. ...... . i got some ideas for stuff on nat'l forest that i may let go of .....but i dont want angry landowners to burn my house down cause i'm putin beta online.

i try to resign from our closed down creek but i cannot....?
so how can i remove my name from the page?

john

John,

Which reach is it? I'm pretty sure I can remove your name.

If you don't want to post it here, email me at matt at americanwhitewater dot org.

John,

You bring up some very good points. Normally we want to have a stream team person listed for a reach so that others have some one to contact for further information. In the case of controversial reaches, having some ones name listed on a reach could create problems for the person so listed.

As a regional stream team person, I am interested in who has edited a reach. It is frustrating if I have questions about a reach, see a good write up but don't know who did the write up. But, again as you point out, if the reach is controversial, posting the editors name publicly could create problems for them.

After the last website update, we have an edit history list on the Credits & Network tab. The prominent box showing the name of the last editor seems unnecessary. Even the edit history list may not need to be public. It could be reserved for viewing by the Stream Team only.

Okay; however we resolve the name on the main page, John's name has been replaced on the Barbours Creek reach.

pmartzen

sounds good.... i was just worried that eventually the landowner or his friends or whomever would find out about AW then see 'thier' creek online...pics...directions..etc... and then show up at my place ready to go apeshit.

i agree with keeping tabs on who is editing... surely that is something that only members need or should see.

the last person to edit having thier name take over the page is making sense now... i've asked a fellow ST'r to resign since they are now out of state so i can take thier reach over... well i recon since i am waiting for thier name to go off.....it never will... until i edit something ....??????
