I frequently use the information provided by 3 virtual gauges:
New River Gorge:
[
www.americanwhitewater.org]
The virtual gauge for this river/reach provides the stage (feet) at Fayette Station using a formula based on the stage reading at Thurmond.
There is no reason for having the tabs for "Graph-flow" and "Table-flow" for this gauge. The data that is shown for these tabs is wrong and irrelevant.
When I click on the "Graph-stage" tab, the first graph looks reasonable except for the label on the y-axis (it should be feet or stage, not flow). Below that is the
"Station Graph" with totally meaningless data.
"Table-stage" also shows meaningless data. The first column is labeled "Flow (cfs) and the data appears to be in feet rounded to the nearest foot (??). The station graph below the table has totally meaningless data.
Upper Gauley:

Clicking on the "Flow" tab gives a Station Graph with no current data. The x-axis has dates from 6/22 to 6/30 and the points are probably for the same time period. They certainly don't reflect the current flows.
Middle Gauley:
[
www.americanwhitewater.org]
"Graph-flow" shows a graph titled "Gauge History" with the current data. This is GREAT!! Unfortunately, just below that graph is another one called "Station Graph" that shows data from 6/22 thru 6/30. Get rid of that graph.
The data under the "Table-flow" tab shows the current data. GREAT!! Just get rid of the "Station Graph" with the same obsolete data.
The data under the "Graph-stage" and "Table-stage" tabs is wrong and meaningless. Both tabs should not be shown.
Basically, each virtual gauge should show only the graph and table that are meaningful for that gauge (flow for those gauges that have a conversion to flow and stage for those gauges that have a conversion to stage). In all cases, get rid of the part starting with "Station Graph" as it is meaningless data for a virtual gauge.
