Site look funky?
Your browser is either Internet Explorer (hit refresh (F5) several times due to a bug in Microsoft's code
that we can't work around) or is 10 years old and
standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.
Consider updating. One excellent option is
Mozilla Firefox, versions of which are available for Linux, Mac and Windows. Safari 1.0+ and IE 6.0+ are also supported.

In the attached screen shot (follow link) you can see an example of a formatting problem I'm noticing. Note how the "River Network" tab is overlapping another button.
You're using Internet Explorer. Some versions of IE aren't compliant with modern web standards. We're working on getting bugs like that out of the system, but it'll be a long process. Have you tried FireFox? It's a free download, and a lot of webizens these days regard it as a much cleaner browser.
That said: that's a bug that we know about. I've submitted a "ticket" to get it taken care of.
Like it or not IE is still the global standard for web browsers. While there might be better technology out there, most people who access the site are going to be using IE. Design really needs to be geared toward the lowest common denominator, which is IE.
BTW - I've just run through the site in FF and see a few of the same formatting issues. I post more examples.
