Calloway update...

There is still wood that comes into play in the first two rapids (Bubba referred to the first as "the dirty thirty" and the second as "ditch b!tch"). Both are worth a scout. We were able to run everything, but the wood def upped the difficulty factor a bit. Level had already peaked when we put on, but was still a healthy flow.

Who hoo... that was fun! Much higher than I've run before - very juicy level. Clay graciously didn't mention my little beat down and subsequent long swim in the flume... full eyewitness report to follow! No GI symptoms yet!

Its actually the 2nd and 3rd rapid if you consider the ledge just after the second cow fence as the creek takes a turn to the left and goes over the 5' ledge/slide.

The Dirty Thirty is the big one in the second place where the creek makes a hard left hand turn.

Actually, there is now only 1 fence on the creek as the 1st one was washed out.

It was a high level on Friday. Calloway can be fun, but it can be serious...creek skills preferred.

Wes, that hole that got you is what Travis and I called the 'Ditch B!tch". It shows up at higher water and makes that twisty flume interesting....especially considering that just downstream used to be the site of a nasty strainer for a few runs last year and there was another tree there on Friday as well.

I believe there are new people living at the putin house. We spoke to them and they were nice. Please treat them and that pulloff with respect.
