Sunday Options

I'm going to try to go boating on Sunday. If there are no other options I'll go do the Elkhorn with the crowd, but I'd like to try to catch the Rockcastle or Laurel River if either is in the offing. Anybody interested in joining me for the hunt?

re: whats a good low level?
all of them.

Lots of rain in that watershed over the past two days so I wouldnt be too worried about it being too low.

I am teaching a class at the RF this weekend or I would be down there tonight through Sunday. I could be talked into a Rockcastle run tomorrow if the RF is too high for my taste. Keeping my options open...

Okay, so it sounds like Bart and Keith are in, and Brandon may be in. It also sounds like the Rockcastle is the favorite. I'd kind of like to try to poach a run on the Laurel, but I won't push it or sit around all day waiting for it to show.

So, call me and we'll make plans. Keith, I'm sure we can meet you in Berea as you suggest.

You guys are free to park in my yard at the Clay's Ferry exit.

Say hi to the pups if you do!

Yo Rockcastle boaters beware of the chiggers on the trail to the river. I was dinner for a family of 15 a couple of weeks ago...

Hey Jason,
Does that class you're teaching this weekend mean
that there is going to be a release?!!!?
And if so, what will it be?

Thanks,
MB

yo Branch....missed you last weekend.

Notice the rainfall in the RF watersheds last night. Natural flow is on its way up today. Looks like another release level weekend guaranteed...maybe more.

Also, looks like another fine weekend to hit the Haysi to Garden Hole section and the Rat Hole to EC section for all those boaters that don't want the gorge.

The creeks coming into the Pound still have water in the them and the Corp is over summer pool so they'll release some water in addition to the natural so the add up I bet will be over 1k tomorrow easily.
