Pigeon and French Broad this weekend

My first chance to get away for awhile and I would like to hit the Pigeon for a couple of laps Saturday, camp at Hot Springs and run the French Broad all the way to Hot Springs on Sunday. If you are interested, e-mail or call me.

BTW, I'm not leaving until Saturday morning since they don't start releasing until noon.

Larry,

I may be in. I have to see how an injury is doing. I feel comfortable doing the Pigeon, I haven't been on it yet, but think I will be fine. I don't know anything about French Broad. Do you mind a newbie tagging along? Is there anyone that I boat with from time to time that could tell me what you think of me on the French Broad?

You'll be fine on the FB Jason. Frank Bells rapid is the only one you might want to walk, but look at it and decide. Kayakers Ledge is a fun drop.

beautiful river, hit it if you get the chance!

After seeing you eat meat grinder for lunch on the RF, I think you'll be just fine on the French Broad Jason. If Larry takes you all the way to Hot Springs, you can skirt the two biggest rapids very easily. Larry is great to follow on any river. I have followed his lines on several creeks and rivers for the first time and I give him two enthusiastic thumbs up!! here: thumbs downthumbs down

You should go!

Jason,

Seeing you on that surf wave at Rat Hole, I think you will be fine on the Pigeon with a good guide like Larry. I would recommend you do it - just don't aggravate your injury - seriously, or you will be out from boating longer than you want.

Hmmmmm. Pigeon/FB with Larry, Allen, and Jason. Or WV with Hanley, et al.
Or RF with Brent and the Elkhorn City crew. Or local stuff--rain is on the way!

Life is good. So many choices.

Life is good Bethany, if you choose Pigeon/FB, I need someone to ride shot gun this trip. Lydia can't go.
