BTW Southern Ohio Whitewater is cranked today

Yes, Virginia, there is whitewater in Ohio.

Whiteoak Creek outside of Georgetown, Ohio is running a big 5000 cfs, think Lower G size surf waves. It's gets pretty continous at these levels at it's not a place of a weak roll. Class III+/IV- at high water. The next watershed east, Straight Creek, would be a run today too. However, access isn't as good.

Stonelick Creek in Clermont Co. east of Cincinnati should be a run today also, there isn't an online gauge for this one. It's a bit steep and creeky, one ledge is probably 6' or so. There are some "secret" steep creeks that run into this creek that may be a run this morning, but I haven't been on any of them.

One other one that I've never ran but looks pretty good is Four Mile Creek across the river from Mayville. This one is fairly steep and pretty short, but looks like it would be a hoot.

Unfortunately, I have to work today and won't be able to sample any of this water.

White Oalk is a hoot!!! We did two laps on White Oak last Friday at 7000-8000 cfs. There is some epic surf at those levels but a lot of the play is washed out. A few of the waves are flippin sick though! We're talking 4-5' pillows, some with eddy access but most are catch on the fly. This creek spikes and drops quick but should still be a run all day. I've heard the best play levels are around 2500 - 3500 cfs but I've not run it at those levels. But it's good fun down to around 1000 cfs and can be run lower than that even.

The take-out is about 30 minutes outside of Maysville, if your coming from KY, and the shuttle is not that bad either.

There is a crew headed there this morning if anyone is up for meeting them. Give me a call and I'll get you in touch with them if you'd like. ate 59 - eight 06 - oh 450.

I just heard from Bodeker and there is a crew headed there this morning if anyone is up for meeting them. Give me a call and I'll get you in touch with them if you'd like. ate 59 - eight 06 - oh 450.
