We had a great BWA turn-out and had 8 or 9 veterans. The very positive thing I saw happen on this trip is that we are having veterans join us after they have completed their programs and moved back into the community. That's an excellent sign for us since we can build that core group of paddlers that we need to move forward. One of the guys has already bought his own kayak and there are several younger/healthier guys who are looking to do whitewater. Tentative talk is that we might do the Elkhorn in two weeks so they can get a feel for moving water. I will be watching the water on the Elkhorn...I hope it steps up a bit for our next TRR paddle .
