The next TRR event is scheduled for Aug. 13 at High Bridge near Wilmore. Here are the directions to the put-in that we will be using

Head out of Wilmore, south to High Bridge, before you go under bridge turn right onto road down to the river. Put in is a parking area at bottom of hill on the left. See you there around 6:00. We will put on the water at 6:30. I hope to see a lot of BWAers there.

Hey guys.....I really would like to to try and make this.

Not sure if anyone is familiar with it but from underneath High Bridge you can paddle UP the tail waters of the Dix river. If you've never done it I highly recommend it. The water is crystal clear, cold, and full of trout. The cliff walls are magnificent and there is actually a riffle you can paddle up to.....and down if you like. It's like traveling to a different land and unlike any scenery really found along the KY River.

I second Wavey's suggestion. That stretch of the Dix is stunning.

I'm going to try to make it Thursday night as well. Will let you all know for sure closer to the date.

I agree with that as well, I'd hold off on the football and save your strength for the Dix (might want a longer kayak or canoe as well)

Quick estimate on Google Earth... 3/4 mile from put-in to mouth of Dix - wouldn't have time to go up the river that far, but scenery is still worth it.

This is a private ramp, isn't it? Do we need to bring $ to launch? What is it, $3 or $5 per boat?
