Yo Mark

I will prolly head on home Sunday morning but there's a possibility I could be talked into a cascades run on Sunday but it is doubtful. If i had my druthers i would do laps on Cheoah on Saturday and then do laps on cascades on Sunday.

You can give me a call if you want and we can see how the weekend unfolds.

OK can we get a sound off on who's doing what? I'm not going to the Tallulah alone, and would prefer to do it with someone who knows it pretty well for the first time. So I may go see Ana Sat night then just come back for laps on the Cascades on Sun if that's what others are doing. Personally don't think Sect IV at this level is worth the drive ... not over the Cascades anyway. If no one is going to Tallulah, I agree it would be better to do laps on Cheoah, or maybe from the Bridge down for a second run than go to Cascades if we are doing them Sun.

Are the Green racers staying there for Sun or going to Tallulah?

Also, when do you guys want to meet and where? Should start getting nice around 11'ish I'm thinking. Would give us time for another lap below the bridge if we put in noonish to 1'ish and don't screw around.

Wes,
I have not run the Tallulah and would like to run it at 500 CFS first. Doing laps on the Cheoah on Saturday and laps on the Cascades Sunday is what I vote for. Cheoah is releasing from 9am to 5pm, I can meet you at the take out whenever you guys want. Maybe next weekend we can find someone who knows the Tallulah to go with so.

you can camp at the take out but I'm not sure about electric hookups. See you there.

I am lookjng for a put on time around 11 or 12 and getting off the river by 3 and heading back home in TN. I don't think I will do laps. I am sure I will not paddle on Sunday. How does that sound for the Cheoah on Saturday tho?

Elizabeth,
Would love to boat with you and JBob again. Hope you can hook up with us. I haven't done the Cheoah that many times ... but getting to know it pretty well ... in all the places that matter anyway!

My timeline suggestion is similar to Brent's. I suggest meet at 11 at the parking area in the corner on the north side of the bridge at the takeout and plan to put on by noon.

I'm hoping to do a second lap from the FS bridge down if someone else is into it.

I plan on being at the take out at 10:30 and ready to go as soon as we can so we can get two runs in. Sunday if there is water in the Cascades getting on by 10 and running laps until 1 or 2 then driving home. See you guys there..

OK so now I'm thinking hook up with you guys for a Cheoah run and then either lap it again or head over to Nanty. From what I hear.....there's a LOT of water in the cascades right now and even more for the weekend.

I'm scurd!!

They're supposed to cut back on the wkend ... but we'll see. You know, those 5 fisherman that may show up are always more important than the 100 boaters. Guess we'll have to keep the NOC store number on speed dial ... I think they'll know what's actually there. I'm fighting yet another cold ... that's 4 in 5 wks ... so I'm not up for Class V ... particularly continuous Class V and I'm thinking as the water goes up the Cascades would take on a continuous V nature ... they say those holes get beefy as the water goes up. I'm long overdue for a beatdown. The good news, the extra water may open up Junkyard (?) that rapid we portaged in the spring for it's extreme pinning hazard. 200-300 is supposed to be optimal, I'm not up for much more than that, but will take a look and make a decision. If it's too high, I'm up for second lap on the lower Cheoah and the Tallulah Sun.
