Thanks for the info Elizabeth. The water is still up, how nice! I might have to make a trip down there to check the situation out.

If anyone else sees the canoe over the next few days let me know, please.

Sandman, thanks for the info on the paddle. I’ll email the guy

Yep, it was there yesterday, the upper gunwhale was about 4-6 inches above waterline as I recall. Also, there is definitely a break in the hull of at least 4 inches at the crease on the river left side.

Canoe is no longer wrapped. its about 100 yards downstream, close to the river right bank...I think its taken its last voyage.

The annual Ledgeman Elkhorn canoe trip is coming up this Saturday May 16, 2009. Come on out and join us. It’s always nice to have a little safety out there. You might be into seeing some canoe carnage?! A video camera or two are always nice. Railroad / S turn is a good place to set up.

You also might want to avoid us. It gets pretty hectic at the put in. I would say we would be at the put in around Noon-2pm depending all when folks get there.

We will be taking out and camping at Mike Larimore’s farm. THANK YOU MIKE!!! I will be out at his place Friday and Saturday night so come out and camp both night. (see attachment for more information.)

Email, call or post for more info.

Later,
Dave Leachman

If you plan on coming AND CAMPING at Mike’s Please let me know by posting, emailing or calling. If you plan on paddling, you don’t have to let me know but you can. We’ll just see you on the river. Newbies are welcome. That's you Jason, Lydia, and Mike F_c_ing Wilson and your other buddy ? and any other newbie. It's a good time after the paddle at camp.

Also I will be at the meeting tonight if you want to let me know there.

Thank you,
Dave

I am planning on boating and coming by Larimore's for a bit. I think Lydia will show up at Mike's later if she can make it.

where are you guys meeting at? I've thought about meeting up and leaving just before you guys so that I'm not on the creek for 2 hrs waiting to video you guys.

Dude I understand what you’re asking. As boaters we have to be on time (by a half an hour at the latest or you’re going to get left at the put in) or so with 10 pieces of must have gear only to put on some of the most intense creeks around. Talk about your pressure. I truly understand.

On this day when it comes to a bunch of non boating, non-gear toting, lost and half lit bunch of folks I’ve ever been around, patience is a must. Ask Bubba. But when they finally get rolling down the river it’s one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I always hope to be at the put in by Noon. The earliest we ever put on was 1pm. The latest which was last year was 3pm. There is plenty of light this time of year so when we get going we are on river time and everyone is cool as a cucumber.

So to answer your question, we are meeting at Mikes and then shuttling to put in at the forks. I hope to leave Mikes between Noon and 1pm. But Folks coming from Bowling Green run late because they have a bit of a drive not to mention they are on Central Time. Hopefully we will be on the water by 2pm at the latest. You are welcome to meet us at Mikes or at the put in.

SYOTR,
Dave Leachman

Nice picture of last year's crew. Is that Travis standing up in the canoe? I didn't remember him being there.

That's good enough. I will be out there somewhere. Anyone else plan to kayak this and want to set a meeting time at the take out?
