Re: How about a Women's Trip this year?

This is starting to sound like a plan. Any thoughts on camping in the area? Maybe something kind of between the Pigeon and the Ocoee?
The Pigeon/ French Broad or Pigeon/Noli combination might be a possibility as well, depending on rains.

It would be cool if we could get a group site somewhere............
If you all throw out some campground names, I'll call around.

Brandon, your selflessness is remarkable. I really appreciate you throwing your services out there for us that weekend. Always up to the challenge......................spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Just a thought, but if you gals (and Brandon) are going to do the Pigeon (good choice!) you might consider camping at Brent's place. It's only about 15 minutes from the putin...

The temptation grows....

As my husband pointed out, the Pigeon to the Ocoee is quite a haul. I'd probably suggest a FB/Pigeon combo if the water is right, or a Nanty/Pigeon combo. Do the tough drive to the Nanty on Friday; give everyone a day to work it and warm up on something that everyone is comfortable on, run the falls a couple gazillion times, a certain someone playing hooky from a bridal shower could maybe demo a boat or two, and then head back toward Lex, to the Pigeon.

Would have to look at group camping at the Nanty for at least Friday night..

Somehow the guys always crash our party on Sunday, but we never seem to mind. smiling smiley They make good chaseboaters and they always have beer at the takeout!!!

Funny my husband pointed that out to. I am up for either just let me know I have never paddled the FB so i would prefer that if it is an option. I assume we would be leaving after work friday. Megan you can come along with Bethany and I am happy to drive I can probably fit one more in the cab and then we will put boats and gear in the back.

You know the Pigeon doesn't run on Sunday, right?

What weekend are you all talking about? I am interested depending on when you go. The French Broad was really low in July, it would take a whole LOT of local water to bring that up to runable levels. And yes, we would have to run the Pigeon on Sat. because it doesn't run on Sundays. Also, at the end of last summer, it stopped running altogether because of the drought; I don't know what their rain has been like this year.

Now my husband is laughing at me b/c this is NOT the first time ( nor the last, probably ) that I try to plan paddling on the Pigeon on a Sunday. Someone needs to clue those dam dam operators in...

3-day weekend? Nanty on Friday, Pigeon on Sat; party like rockstars on Sat night and limp home on Sunday.

Just a thought; I'm open for whatever the water and gas prices allow... with just two points - I don't think we should consider the Hiwassee unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, and the Pigeon to the Ocoee is a haul.

Megan it is the weekend of the 16,17th.. We could always just run 8 runs on the pigeon until we are all about to drop dead party like rock stars saturday night have a late breakfast sun monring, take a hike or something and come home sunday..smiling smiley But I am up for just about anything but I second the no Hiawasse comment.

I'm up for a three day weekend. Anybody else able to swing it??

I'll run whatever. I just want to get in my boat. And I want a beer at the take-out. And I want to laugh a lot. And I want to hit lots of combat rolls...........I'm a simple person, really.

Megan M: We are talking about Aug. 15-17th. Hope you're able to make it!
