I'm still in, but it will be hard for me to take Friday off. Is anyone going either Friday night or Saturday morning? I would love to carpool if possible.

Cynthia, I can't leave until Friday evening or Sat morning either. I'll be at the meeting Tues to discuss rides/logistics if you want.

I was hoping to rally a large crew of groupies and meet everyone on the Pigeon next saturday, but heard it wasn't releasing due to the drought.

Did it release this weekend?

According to the latest information from the power plant regarding Pigeon releases, there will not be a release this Saturday. Here is the phone number to call in case something changes the release plans: 1-800-899-4435

It hasn't released since last Tuesday. The dreaded drought. This happens frequently towards the end of dry summers w/ Pigeon releases.

When I was down there two weekends ago the Pigeon was down to one day a week and everything else down there was a non-starter. The only options really open are likely to be the Nanny, Hiwassee and Ocoee, unless it rains.

except for that unavoidable rock that eats people, the Lower Yough is sounding better and better...

So if the Pigeon doesn't run (and it's looking like it's not gonna), what do you all want to do? It looks like our options will be the Nantahala, Hiwassee, and Ocoee. And then there's the Lower Yough. Oh, and what about the New??

If no one else can take Friday off, I'll most likely save that vacation day. I'd be comfy running something like the Nanty on Friday if a few others can swing it though.

Heather, Megan, and Zina-- are you gals still in?
