Dec. 5 Stream Clean-up in honor of Ed Gaker



Join us on Saturday, December 5th, as we honor the 6 month anniversary of the passing of our good friend, Ed Gaker. One of Ed's favorite places was Decker's Creek, in Morgantown, WV, and he spent a lot of time cleaning up trash dumps near the creek. In honor of our good friend, we're going to organize a stream clean-up day. The local Morgantown crew is going to work on parts of Decker's Creek. You don't need to live near Morgantown to help. If you knew Ed, or if just want to help out, find a stream near your home that needs some attention, and on December 5th go out and pick up a few bags of trash. Get your friends involved, spend 5 minutes, or the entire day. Every little bit can help.

Anyone interested in picking out a local stream (Hickman, Madco streams Etc.) to do a clean-up. I'd be up for a day on the water walking, talking, and cleaning. Anyone, Bueller? J

As most anyone knows who has ever paddled there....the Hickman could REALLY use a cleanup. I'm going to try and organize something for the spring for it and Jessamine Creeks. Do something similar like we did on the Muddy back in the winter.

The Boone is in desperate need of a clean up to get the Christian Camp's shed and debris out of it as well.
We need some rain to be able to assess all of these local creeks and then we can come up with a gameplan. I'm all for a MadCo clean up weekend though.
