Help Promote Additional Releases on RF

"Adventure Tourism" is the "word" from the Governor's office and includes whitewater sports! Additional releases and efforts to help get scheduled releases should be part of our BWA mission in the next few years. Let's get some talking going and generate interest in accomplishing this benefit to Kentucky whitewater interests!

This flyer was spread all over town in Elkhorn City last week. We may have a bit of momentum coinciding with the RFRR this year. Please help us support the effort to get more releases.

Brent

Sounds like a good time to jump on this. Not to forget the other dam controlled rivers in the state as well as the whitewater park idea on the KY River. They want our input, let's give it to them.

I say we send Gilligan a pfd of the Boonesborough Whitewater Park we have one solution put together, a little collaboration tonight and bring it home? We'll have to get the creative juices flowing!

Brent, I think the Russell Fork River Rendevous will carry the vibe to get releases on the russell fork in the summer. The energy and excitement is in the air, the locals are excited too! There is the issue with the two warm water rare species and getting a top release solution (warm water? What more could you want?) but it would cost around $2 mil. I met a former president of a boating club that has a "surplus" of money and need to unload it on a good project. They feel that besides the UP, the russell fork is home to them, only 9 hours away. We should look the clubs up there too, he didn't give me any info, but I did envite him to the party!
