Boone Creek Strainer Carnage

I've heard one first person account of several swims, all at the same strainer on Boone Creek last week. Apparently, 2 or 3 people swam out of this strainer together and another person swam moments earlier at the same strainer.

I'd like to hear some discussion from the swimmers and/or witnesses about this incident. Why did it happen. What could have been done differently. Why was this strainer so difficult to identify? Why was this strainer so hungry?
