Supposed first run of Jouett Creek post Ice storm found the creek not full of wood as expected. It was a low level but not a scrappy. There was still wood but only in a few rapids and if you put yourself in the right place at each rapid the wood is not in play . . . much. HOWEVER there is one must river left eddy one must catch a few rapids below compactor barely past a river right hole to scout the ditch, ledge flume. Today in the flume there were two logs. I forwent the flume on the river left and a rope was needed. Wavey, Scott, and Cress fired it up. There was also wood at the bottom of the run before the river that we DID have to portage. I don’t think it will run tomorrow but it is worth a look see. Sure was a hoot! Lots of fun ledges, drops, twists, and turns. Thanks Jeff! Why does my back hurt?
Jouett requires Class IV skills. When in doubt . . . scout.
I am looking for a mid morning hook up for Saturday. I’ll keep my finger crossed.
Boone will surely be there and the waterfalls are spectacular! Allthough I want surf tomorrow after creeking. Come on MUDDY hold-er steady!
