Woah... I need to check the forum more often. Thanks for all the replies and great advice. My stats are 6'2", 185lb, 34 inseam, size13 shoe.

Haven't had much time to peruse the websites that have been suggested, but I'll check them out this evening. And I'll definitely keep in mind the sentiments toward CanoeKy. Appreciate the posts.

So good news! I happened to be checking boatertalk the last few days, and I happened upon a nice used boat. Only catch is this item is nestled away in Raleigh, NC.

This isn't so much a problem. Shipping fees aren't unbearable, and a roadtrip isn't out of the question either. However, thought it might be worth asking a favor of anyone heading that way (or returning from there). I'd be happy to work out compensation for the help.

If not, no worries. I'll gladly bite the bullet to freight this over buying something new.

Almost... in... water,
Justin

Hey Justin....I go to Asheville all the time (been there the last 3 weekends) but probably wont be back down there until August. I'd be more than happy to help you out if the person can get it to asheville and you can wait that long.

Hey,

We have friends who live in Raleigh and have been talking about coming to visit us, however it is one of those things that may or may not happen dependent on many different factors. I'll keep you posted.

If your seller could get it to someone in Asheville, there is no reason to ship it Justin. One of us will be headed that way in the next couple of weeks. I think Heather had mentioned planning a trip to the Nanty on the 25th.

BWAer Adam T. lives in Asheville and would probably be cool with a boat sitting in his garage until someone could pick it up.
Just keep us posted. I would definitely start out by seeing if they could get the boat to AVille though........

Thanks Clay, Hanley, & Bethany... I'm gonna talk to the seller again to see what he can do.

Just a quick update... I've found another boat for sale in Wesser, NC which looks to be very close to Asheville. If there is someone heading that way & who might be willing to pickup a boat, then I'd be most gracious. I can definitely pay for the gas to get there or something. Thanks again for the help so far!

Justin,
I'm headed to NOC tomorrow to pick up Brit from her kids clinic there. Our plans are a quick run on at least part of the Nanty, eating Sherpa Rice at River's end (yum) then headed over toward Ocoeeland ... likely staying in Murphy along the way. Would be glad to pick up / meet someone re: the boat. Congrats on the Mamba score ... a good used one is truly hard to come by ... they are so hot that usually if you want to sell one and your friends know you have a buyer before you can advertise it ... my theory as to why you don't see many for sale.
