Gear for the upcoming trip based from Brent's

Hi ya'll,
There will be some new faces participating in the upcoming festivities this weekend and they are in need of a few pieces of gear.

I think Lyle pretty much has everything, but could use some float bags.

Pat needs a paddle and a helmet and float bags.

I think Hanley is going to help outfit Stephen with a boat and a paddle. But he has nothing else. Hanley, did you and Stephen work out gear needs? Helmet and pfd??

None of the guys have the most ideal gear for the Nanty. So, if anyone could bring some extra layers or extra drytops, that would be great (men's M or LG). They've done a great job supporting Canoe Kentucky but haven't been able to get everything they need there. I have a feeling some major shopping will take place at NOC on Sunday!

Thanks for your help.
If you are going on the trip and need any gear, please post here.

Too late for the trip, but I've been watching the Immersion Research Closeouts web page ever since someone posted about it in one of the forums...they had some sample long sleeve and short sleeve Thick Skins this week for $15 and $10 respectively (I picked up one of each) - looks like they sold all of them. They still have some medium women's - says something about possibly being loose in the neck, but they didn't seem to be.

I got a long sleeve Thin Skin a couple of months ago for $20. Looks like they still have one large and a few small in long sleeve, and a few odd sizes in short sleeve for $18.

Campmor has the IR Polar Skin LS top for almost half price ($35) currently in S, M, XL, XXL. This is my favorite insulating top.

Gear I have that I can lend out for the wkend:

Large waist skirt - snapdragon current standard cockpit like new

Old school jacket - neoprene vest part with nylon sleeved and neoprene cuffs size M. Not dry by any means, but over the top below would be fine for a rainy day or frequent swim day on the Nanty / pigeon

Old school coated nylon splash top - med also good with the top below

Old School nylon fleece jacket size Med - not as comfy as new school, but functionally warm, nonetheless

Old school med shorty splash top and I believe I have a SS nylon fleece top to go with it.

Neoprene shorty 5mm - this actually fits more like a med - small but I used to use this as my only garment on warm days on the nanty.

Will be teaching some friends to roll Sat at the lake in L'ville so will need the Mamba 7.5 otherwise would lend it out for the trip.

NOC rents splash jackets, and neoprene - if you only need something for one day there while deciding what to buy....

The problem in getting my gear is you will have to work with me to figure out a time to meet me tonight as my day is pretty tight already and I'm working Fri am - Sat a.m.

Thanks a ton Wes. We'll see what we can come up with. Meeting up may be problematic, so hopefully the vetrans that are going on the trip can throw in extra gear in their cars.

Great idea on renting gear from NOC. I hadn't thought of that. Clothing for the Pigeon shouldn't be that big of a deal. But on the Nanty........brrrrrrrrrr!

Just heard from Stephen. Hanley is going to let him borrow a boat and paddle.

He needs a skirt, pfd, and helmet.

He has a rather large head (his words were "enormous") so that may be problematic. He also needs some layers.

There is a chance that Linda and Britt may be able to outfit him with a skirt.

Bethany,

I have a Pro-Tec helmet (i think the size is Large) that i can bring. It has plenty of scratches, since I spent a lot of time upside down in it when I was first getting started, so hopefully that won't scare him off right off the bat!

I also have a splash top in size M.

Steve, if you could bring both, that would be fantastic. Thanks!
