Noobie reports? Not much worth mentioning on the water. Off the water was pretty wild....but what happens at Brent's, stays at Brent'swinking smileywinking smileywinking smiley

Yearly, event? I agree, but we need to compensate Brent either through the club or personally. Help him build up the compound in some way.

LOL. Thanks Don. This might be fun to do each year, as we had a ball. Turns out the Pigeon did run on Sunday, so, durn, if we had known that, we could have avoided the drive to the Nanty (although it was fun and quite the adventure!) Anytime you or any folks want to come paddle the Pigeon and work on a trail or something, I will never turn it down. lol. Skobotin soon!

I also meant to say that I don't recommend EVER trusting your GPS unit to get you home. After last night, I wished I'd listened when I heard random mentionings of the Tail of the Dragon road. 318 curves in 11 miles? Never again. smiling smiley

Sounds like everyone had a great time! Very cool! But I have to say ... call in sick on Mon? Wish I had that luxury ... if you call in sick to miss an ER shift, you better be dying, as I have yet to do that ... may end up seeing patients pushing an IV poll ... but I'm still workin! Oh, and those shifts are 24 hrs ... although most of the time I get sleep a few hrs, not always ... what a bunch of weinies! winking smiley

Oh, Lydia! That was me and my 'trusty' TomTom last August. It was an experience to be remembered, but not repeated if I can help it. The first thing we met was a car on its side across the road. A paramedic was there, but the driver had only a bruised elbow - very lucky. By the end of the drive on 129, I felt lucky, too.
I think that at certain times of the day on certain days of the week, that route is calculated as the fastest. And it may be, by a few minutes. But I agree, not worth it.

While Britt and I were unable to camp with everyone, we certainly enjoyed the paddling on Saturday. I managed to do the Upper without a swim for the first time in 6 times on that section of river and I think[i] I was complimented by being called a [i]female Mike Larrimore for managing to stay upright since I don't have a consistent roll yet. Thanks to Brent for putting this whole thing together. I think a great time was had by all!
