B6, I've got some bruised knees from Patton's Run, too. I'll buy you a beer to compensate for the broken toe. (and Jeff and Mike, too!)
I failed to mention how much of a superstar Pat became over the weekend. He seemed very comfortable on the river and is a rolling machine when he needs to be. Great job, Pat!
I just want to add my thanks for the hospitality this weekend, Brent and Christine. It was my first time meeting and paddling with most of you, and I had a blast! It was nice to meet new people. Thanks also to Barry for helping Chris, Don and me with learning to surf on Saturday. Great weekend!
Yes! Thanks so much Brent, Christine, and Dove for opening up your compound to all of us. What a great place! I thoroughly enjoy my outings there! The drumming was amazing on Sat night. As was the food!
And a huge thanks to everyone who loaned gear, chase boated, coached, and helped out with the newer paddlers. They had lots of experiences! Some wonderful, some challenging, and some not so great. It's always interesting for me to work with newbies because it takes me back to how I felt when I first started. Which was mainly scared! And excited! And apprehensive! And thrilled!
I have lots of gear that I borrowed from people that I'll work on returning. Give me a bit of time if you don't mind. I was unloading boats and hanging up gear at 3 a.m. Ouch. My boss isn't too excited about my passion for paddling. To say the least.
It was wonderful to paddle and party with you all.
Until next time!

As far as I know, everyone in my Nanty crew made it to work. Of course, we're all half asleep, but physical presence has to mean something................
I was in the car with one person who called his boss from the NOC to report a vacation day. I hope that person has unloaded and cleaned all of the stuff that didn't get unpacked, last night!
I am at work too. Sleep is for wimps:-) Just ask any wwboater from WI.
Those folks really know how to squeeze out a full weekend. They leave after work on Friday - drive all night to get to the Ocoee (or most rivers in the SE) get to the putin about 9am - boat the river, party late, get up and boat on Sunday then drive home all night getting back just in time to go to work at 8am on Monday.
BTW, leaving the river late on a Sunday meant a LOT less traffic heading home on I-75 N last night. Gotta love cruise control!
Yep..great weekend all the way around! Thank you Brent and Christine! I really enjoyed getting to know all of you up-and-coming BWA river-warriors! For anyone keeping count, I WAS at work this morning bright and early after going to bed last night (correction-this morning) sometime around 2:00 am. I told the folks at work I'd had a little nap before work today! Barry and I have some Wisconsin-ish practice~literally being dropped off at work at 8:00 am on the way home from the river, not having been home first. Just like the calluses on your palms~at some point you get a bit more used to it, but I will probably be in bed at 9:00 tonight! Barry's right on though, about the traffic. At 11:00 last night, I-75 was DEAD, and I think I'd chose again to chill at River Run Restaurant with my boating buds and drive with the cruise and the road to myself, ratther than fight the Ohio Navy and their speed boats in tow on I-75 at 6:00 pm.
