Was there anyone with you all that had paddled the Tellico in years past? I'm curious how the 1.45' level corresponds to levels say 3 yrs ago as I've heard that the gauge changed.
I've never been lower then 1.7' and would like to know how that corresponds to today's gauge reading.
How 'sticky' was that lead in hole above baby's where you start your right to left move to hit the boof? Did you run left at Diaper Wiper and if so how much scraping did you do? I'm trying to use those two spots to gauge if its really changed that much.
I don't think anyone in our crew that day had paddled it before last year.
Move above Baby's wasn't sticky, but a good brace helped to keep it going left. My 2nd lap landed me in the river right eddy above the falls, but I was just being lazy.
Left at Diaper Wiper...very scrapy, I ran it sideways, hit the "'eddy" unintentionally before the dogleg right turn, and the rest was clean.
Jareds Knee was very technical but not pushy at all. I'd say at that level it's a great intro to creeking, but much lower and I'd head elsewhere or just lap the Ledges and the Falls.
