Brent,

I'm working Sat, but would love to hook up with you Sun after work like last Fall. I could take my stuff to work, and head over via the parkway through London straight from work. As I recall, I was there by 1'ish last year. I've been dying for a low water gorge run this summer...

Update -

We have a full class this weekend, everyone is paid up and ready to throw bags and tie knots. Look forward to seeing yall on the Russell Fork, and a big thanks to Jason and Larry ahead of time. And of course Dale Perry for assisting in getting the Corp. to give us some water.

I want to thank Larry Cable and Jason Foley for an excellent job teaching our class. I found it very informative and I came away with some very useful rescue techniques. You guys did a great job. I had a blast this weekend.

For anyone who has not had this class, regardless of your boating level, you should take it.

The Swift Water Rescue class was a big success, the class was full, we got a release from the Corp., and good times were had by all.

HUGE thanks to Larry Cable and Jason Foley. They went over a large amount of ino in 2 days, and did it well. Yall make a good team.

Thanks to Dale and Fred for the assistance, and the rest of the class for the enthusiasm and great energy. The Russell Fork is a beautiful place.

I'd also like to thank Larry and Jason for a well-organized, informative and fun class. Thanks to Meryl for being the teaching assistant and Oscar-winning swimmer (so realistic she made a little girl cry). Also, the participants all contributed great energy and enthusiasm, helping each other out, asking great questions, keeping the class moving.
And thanks to the club members who voted to subsidize this class, though it would've been worth it at twice the price.

Thanks for the compliments, Folks.

It's a pleasure to teach these classes when the students are excited about the class and actively participating in the exercises and scenerios. Everyone was thinking and ready to get in the water and try stuff without any hestitation. Of course, the 90+ weather helped encourage that a bit I'm sure :^). I had a good time teaching this weekend.

And on your recommendations, Jason and I are doubling the price of the class next time ;^).

(I am kidding, we do try to take care of our BWA brethren)

Wow, what a great weekend! Thanks so much Larry and Jason. The class was informative, I try my best to have good foresight instead of hindsight. Oh, the swims, the knots, the teamwork, the after class get togethers, seeing JBob squeeze into my pfd.... it goes on and on, such a great time.

Also, I love seeing fellow paddlers out there taking the initiative to learn more. It's impressive to see such a large group with every member so gung-ho. Hopefully, there won't be a situation in which a rescue is necessary but, it's nice to know that my paddle buddies are up to the task.

D*t =)

I would also like to add my voice to thank the instructors and volunteers whose generous spirits made this class possible, and to praise the participants for their full and enthusiastic participation. It's things like this that make me proud of the BWA.

Additional thanks should go out to Brandon and Dale for getting this organized; Fred for making sure all the bills were paid and Meryl for her assistance throughout the class. The look on her face when Larry asked her to toss her paddle when practicing the Hand of God boat rescue was priceless.

Great job all!

Yes! The class was great!

Thanks to Larry, Jason, and Meryl for great instruction and patience. The class was very well organized and super informative. And, it was a whole lot of fun! Big thanks to Brandon too, for pulling together all the logistics.

We had such a great group out there! The energy was fantastic. I really do feel blessed to have stumbled upon such a dynamic group of people. You gals/guys make paddling fun. Thanks.

Now, get out there and save my ass......................
