| Detailed Description: | Bob Knight of Custom Kayak Interiors reports a near-miss on the South American’s Folsom Gorge. A woman was apparently washed into a crack between two huge boulders while upside down in her kayak. When Knight came upon the scene only half the boat was visible. He was able to move the boat, whereupon he discovered that the woman was trapped , her neck wedged in the crack. Since the crack flared downward and he could see daylight on the other side, he released her head by pushing her under water. She was retrieved by boaters downstream. Mouth-to-mouth was stared, and breathing resumed after one strong puff.

Analysis: Quick thinking and actions by several people prevented a fatality.
