Chris Gragtmans, of TerraVida Threads, recently approached us with a cool challenge he's participating in to raise money for American Whitewater and other great non-profits. Chris's description:

Thanks so much for your interest in supporting American Whitewater as part of the French Broad Distance Paddle! This organization was an obvious choice during the planning of the challenge, and has been doing great things for paddlers and other river-goers for nearly 60 years. AW represents the front line of whitewater river protection and restoration in this country, and their resume of accomplishments is growing every day. AW also provides a massive online database of real-time flows and river information and works with local groups and affiliates to foster river conservation and management.

Simply put- if we didn’t have AW, the sport of whitewater paddling would be extremely different. A donation to this organization represents a statement that you support this good work, that you enjoy clean, free-flowing rivers and that you want to protect the ability of the public to have a voice in the management of these waterways.

Check out the challenge page for full details, and I hope that you can make a donation to these excellent organizations.
