Little Falls Gauge Shutdown Averted!

Good news! The Metropolitan Washington
Council of Governments decided to fund the Little Falls gauge on the Potomac when they met on
Friday, May 20. The meeting was short of a quorum, therefore the decision is not yet locked
in stone; however keeping the gauge in their budget was unanimously supported. They
Council is reportedly already working on a contract to pay for the gauge, and are going to
notify USGS. It appears that a shutdown was averted. Thanks to our members for all
their phone calls; they really helped!
