The Hoofer Outing Club is a year-round outdoor activites club for all interestes, abilities and backgrounds. Hoofers bike, kayak, canoe and rock climb when it is warm; cross-country and Telemark ski when it's cold; and cave, backpack and camp all year long!

We welcome all levels of experience, beginners and advanced. Trips range from high-intensity adventure to low-key relaxation. Club members will teach you the skills you need for activities. Boating lessons and beginner-only trips are offered throughout the year.

The Boating group involves whitwater kayaking, sea kayaking and canoeing. The club is geared towards beginners. One of the strength of our program is to introduce new people (mostly students, but also other members of the Memorial Union) into boating, teach them basic concepts and help them to learn how to paddle safe in a social environment.

In addition to beginner trips in Wisconsin we also have intermediate and advanced trips out east to West Virginia, North Carolina or Tennessee and out west to Colorado, Idaho or Washington going on. Frequently smaller groups of current and former Hoofers get together and go on trips outside the US like Japan, New Zealand, Equador, Chile or the Alps.
