The River Touring Section (RTS) of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club leads canoe and kayak trips mainly on lakes and rivers. Some sea kayak trips and kayak surfing trips are held in the southern California area and in Morro Bay. Most trips are conducted within California, although a few trips are led in Oregon, Utah, Arizona and Nevada. Trips are usually 2-3 days in length, however long distance trips can last up to a week or more. Most trips are touring type trips, although the RTS intends to offer more instructional trips in the future. Trips can vary in difficulty from class I (easy flat water) to class IV (advanced whitewater). We hold regular meetings in Los Angeles.
