| Account | This is essentially the entrance and namesake drop to "Black Dick" on the Upper Birkenhead, near the top of one of longer class V stretches near the end of the run. An un-named paddler swam head first between the two closely spaced boulders on the right, and scrambled up onto the slab-like rock in the middle below them ---- and the colorful story can be found here. The exact date listed is a guess, but it was August 2007. |
