| Account | Three kayaks and one paddle raft boated Horseshoe Bend on May 17, 2009. The kayakers paddled down Willow Creek to the river. The rafters carried their boat under the aquaduct pipe and out the river. Carrying the raft is awkward in many spots where the trail is narrow and bushes and tree branches intrude. The proposed raft put in trail has not been constructed. The staff gauge on the downstream side of Willow Creek is reading much higher than the online gauge. Staff gauge reported around 5,000 cfs while the online gauge reported closer to 3500 cfs. It was an ideal flow whatever it was. |
