confluence of Lick Run the first 3 - 4 miles were a blast with one signature rapid and many
undercut ledges. Strainers were as expected, portaging around 10 or more, lost count. The lower
section, below Morris, widened out but still offered great waves with the addition of the Stony and
Wilson Creek. Strainers turned into sweepers and the pace picked up, taking only half the time to
cover the same distance as the upper. The mile cool down to Rattlesnake Rock canoe access on Pine
Creek offered a view of 4 bald eagles. Entire trip top to bottom took around five hours with the
local Blockhouse Creek gauge around 190cfs at launch and roughly 175cfs at pull out. Great
wilderness run !
gauge). A fun, easy class II run. About 6" to 1' higher might make it a very good run.-- Steve
