River Description
This is a popular day stretch during higher water (>1,000 cfs) A raft can be run down to 500
cfs as a 2 day trip. Canoe or kayak this section as a 2 day down to 150 cfs. This section is in
Big Bend National Park and requires a permit obtainable at park headquarters or in Lajitas. The
state and national parks require anyone on a trip to wear their PFD's through named rapids. Left
is Texas and Right is Mexico. All of the river access points are on river left. (See 'Rapids' tab
for more info.)
