River Description
NOTE: Access to this run is currently closed as the road up the Chehalis was damaged
during a flood. Access may be restored sometime in 2011.
This creek is on Weyerhaeuser's McDonald Tree Farm which is 2 miles out of Pe Ell. Complete
directions can be found on the Chehalis page. Once you reach the
confluence of the East and West Fork Chehalis (9.9 miles from the first bridge across the
Chehalis in the McDonald Tree Farm), continue straight on the 1000 road which run along river
left. You will cross the river 3 times (at mile 10.7, 11.0, and 13.2 from the first bridge). Put
in at this third bridge on downstream river right.
This creek has half a dozen fun ledge drops and at higher flows serves as an alternate put-in for
a run on the Chehalis that gives you a few more rapids.

definitely go higher too. At this level it required a stretch of imagination to call it class 4. It
was more like class 3 with a couple spots that pushed class 4-. Still quite fun and no major wood
issues. This is a great "intro to creeking" type run. Ledgy, but not intimidating.
