River Description

Running through Woodford Co. near Frankfort, Glenns Creek is a playboater’s wonderland at good water levels. Several perfectly formed class III surf hydraulics are intersperced among numerous class II drops. Strainers are often a randomly occuring problem and boaters should be alert for a possible portage around farm fences. Paddler’s generally look to Glenn’s first after a soaking rain and when the Elkhorn is too high.

Penny on the Viking Canoe Club had this to say "Glens has trees down. FYI: Tree river wide on first
bridge, barely enough room on left for a boat. Same old tree down early in run."

As of 3/29/07, there is a 3/4 river wide strainer. The location of the strainer is where the creek
approaches the town of Millville. We were able to move it enough to clear a channel on river right.
Even so, there is an exposed root ball on the right bank that makes this a tricky run for those
without good boat control. Allen Kirkwood Edit
