Canyon Creek (Skagit trib.), |
|
| Usual Difficulty | IV-V (may vary with level) |
|---|---|
| Length | 6.7 Miles |
Logistics:
This is a hike-in run located in the Upper Skagit River drainage. You can access the take-out and
the trailhead for the hike in at Highway 20 mile 141.2. From the trailhead it's about a six mile
hike up to the put-in. In theory you could access the put-in for this run from Hart's Pass, but
in practice you will probably end up doing just as much hiking to get in from the top and a whole
lot more driving.
Visual. Look for flows of 200-400 cfs after the North Cascades Highway opens

creek a try.
Afterwards we decided it would be better to do granite both days.
The hike in was not bad, but the rapids were meager and only one notable class V drop that was
manky and not worth running.
If you like to look at old mining wreckage, and pretty scenery. Maybe its worth doing.
