River Description

Beautiful scenic run. Nothing extremely intense except a few tight slots, otherwise just a fun challenging run. Only one woody section which is missed to river right. Fairly large drainage basin for a creek so it could get alot of volume in a downpour. Only negative point is that the road that runs alongside it down to the Bluestone is gated private property so shuttle will have to be set downstream on the Bluestone River. Put in at the Mountain Creek Missionary Baptist Church on CR 4. Closest takeout would be on the Bluestone River Rd CR 27.

I was there a couple times that year. There were a couple of farmers on Rockhouse Branch that were
stunned to see a couple boaters on such a small stream. One guy said he'd been there all his life
and never seen anyone boat Rockhouse Branch. Mountain Creek was twice the volume of Rockhouse, and
had several good ledges. Shuttle is long!<br>
