Does anyone ever try running over the low "Jambs" at the outlet of Bantam Lake? Edit
Strainer warning - Bantam River, CT. There is a corner above the second downstream bridge on Smoky
Hollow Rd. Last fall there was a full sized tree shore to shore that made a big yoke across the
whole river. Guaranteed to ruin your day. There isn't enough time to do anything once you're around
the corner in fast water and the banks are high enough that it probably won't move for quite some
time. Also, if anyone ever goes from RTE 202 instead of Stoddard, be aware of a lot of wood along
the way.
