River Description
The river below the dam at Melrose to the Tennessee is class I with some nice scenery but limited
access below the 411 bridge until Rockford which makes for a long haul.
IMPORTANT: There is a low-head dam in Rockford at the Rockford Manufacturing plant at approximately
river mile 6.8 (TopoZone). DO NOT even think of running this dam - there have been at least four
drownings involving boaters at this dam in the last 8 years.
