GAUGE: Visual. Look for flows of around 300 cfs. The Satsop gauge near Satsop gives you some indication of what's happening in the basin. Look for flows around 2000 cfs on this gauge and slightly above. If it's been pouring rain and everything is pumping then head someplace else. The best gauge is at the takeout. Look at the bridge piling on river right. If the water is clear and up to the board you're at the right level. If the water is brown and there's no sign of a board then it's too high.
