Gauge Information

Gauge Description:

Gauge levels are for optimum play at the ledge and lower rapid. It takes ~3 hours for the water to fully arrive at the ledge once generation at Remmel Dam starts. A minimum of 3-hour continuous generation of 3600+ CFS is require to provide adequate flows at the ledge.

Flows above the ~3600 CFS normal generation flow tend to start flushing-out many of the usual play spots. Eddies get fewer and ferries more difficult.

Flows above 9000 CFS generally consist of fast current and leave little play. An aggressive hole develops just right of center around 7500 to 9500 CFS.

Flows below 2000 CFS reduce the play spots to just a few shallow spots.

Realtime data on the lake levels and streamflows are available on Entergy's Website
