River Description

Otter Creek (aka; Main Stem / West Fork) is a highly playful stream littered with great surfing spots throughout it's entire length. With easy, wide open class II rapids and the occasional class III hydraulic (at normal water levels) Otter Creek provides quality whitewater that should have a few challenges for the novice and plenty of play for the skilled paddler. As with most Central Kentucky whitewater streams care should be taken to watch for tree strainers along the entire length of the Otter.

It's only a short distance from the putin on the West Prong Bill Eades Road to the confluence with the Middle (Main) fork of the Otter where the water volume doubles. If the W. Prong is too low then the move is to put on the Main Stem of the Otter on Lost Fork Road.
