Likely too low for good whitewater. (We can use additional input. Add a comment or report.) Gauge (905 sq.mi. drainage) is at bridge near put-in, thus very accurately conveys actual flow for this reach. |
River Description
Section contains:
The Chute, a twisting 10' drop over a ledge and large boulders, followed by an undercut
cliff (left) and an undercut rock (right) (class III-V). Scout the Chute river left...watch out
for lots of Poison Ivy on trail.
Between these named drops lie 0.4 mile of boulder bed rapids (class II-III).
The Gorge, two steep ledges and a narrow canyon with sheer 50' walls (class III-V).
Start extreme right through the upper 2 ledges. Move to river left to go through the gap on the
far left for ledge #3. Then aim toward center of the narrow "throat" section of the
Gorge.
