River Description
The upper stretch is a dog of a run. It requires a 4-mile hike in (see directions) down to a the
start of the creek (Fossil Springs). Although scenic...this run can drag on for a while. If you
have done everything else in the area, check it out, and make sure you run everything, because
the filler sections will discourage you. One major bonus to this run is Fossil Creek Falls. First
D'ed by Cody Howard, it has been run twice. There are two options for this drop (30'-40'er) The
river right channel (Through da' Trees) or the river left (Mini Bomb) Believe it or not, Mini
Bomb is the cleaner of the two. For those who qualified to run these drops, you'll know what to
do. Others, steer clear. From there on down, the creek is filled with trees, spiders, nasty
pitons and more trees. Get down to the start of the classic section by either boating or
shouldering your boat on down.
Directions: Off Fossil Creek Road (out of Strawberry). Start your hike at Fossil Springs
Trailhead (just at the to top of the canyon rim). If you end up driving down the canyon, you've
gone too far. Take out is the
