Favorite River: Like most women, I am moody, so that changes. Sometimes I like big water and surfing, sometimes waterfalls and boofs, sometimes people, sometimes solitude. Some days I just want to be in my boat all day with no surprises and some days I have loved the adventure of portaging and/or hiking out (that is how I met my husband!)

Biography:I was born and raised in Mississippi where I spent my childhood roaming the woods and fishing. My teenage angst turned to young adult angst and I began a search for freedom. I rediscovered that childhood freedom in the outdoors mountain biking, hiking, and climbing which brought me to the Appalachian Mountains. I eventually discovered whitewater raft guiding, and honestly, it pissed me off because I was so terrible. I began a mission to understand the river and myself and discovered the magic. I spent years taking people rafting all over the country and teaching them about the magic of rivers and the power of water. I was introduced to kayaking during those years and have now become obsessed with steep gradient, surfing waves, and understanding what happens to a squirt boat in Pillow Rapid on the Gauley.
